About the Book
What do YOU look for in a Supervisor?
Our “Why” for The Empowerment Model of Clinical Supervision
For Khara, this book represents a personal journey. Having had a challenging experience with supervision while in graduate school, Khara was inspired to write this book after learning how different supervision could be. Being asking “what do you look for in a supervisor?” started Khara’s journey into leadership and professional skills development in order to cultivate the combination of qualities a supervisor needs. Promoted to a supervisor role herself, Khara was determined to conduct herself in ways that would leave her supervisees feeling inspired and empowered.
Christina lives and breathes empowerment, recognizing it as an elevated skill when approaching the supervision relationship. Christina embodies empowerment in her clinical work with almost a hundred supervisees in her career so far, leading to the creation of this book based on finding what worked well for her diverse teams of clinicians in community mental health.
